One of the
things that was included with our Mother Goose Time curriculum was a Welcome
Kit. I got really excited going through all these goodies and thinking of ways
to display everything.
This is the
flyer that came with the Welcome Kit. It shows everything that’s included.
This is our
circle time display that I made using a tri-fold foam board. It was really fun
to put together.
Included in
the display is:
·
Clothesline
– We’ll collect a new shape each month and place it here.
·
Weather
basket – Holds our weather pieces that will be used during circle time.
·
Birdhouse
– Will help us learn about colors and friendly behaviors. Each month, we’ll
collect a color bird and a feather that will have a friendly behavior word on
it.
·
Number
line – Along the bottom of the display is a number line that will help us learn
about numbers and we’ll be learning at least 2 numbers each month.
·
Another
part to the main circle time display is the flower pot where we’ll learn about
letters and sight words.
The world
map is where we’ll learn about the world and collect a new country flag and
sticker each month. We’ll experience diverse cultures through recipes, games
and activities.
There’s also
little helper tags that you can set up to help kiddos learn how to be
responsible and contribute to the community through daily jobs. There’s also a
“Little Helper” song on the Circle Time CD to go along with this.
Here’s how I
set up our alphabet flip strip. Each shows an uppercase and lower case of each
letter in the alphabet and when you lift up the flap, it shows a photo that
helps form letter-sound connections.
This is the
Circle Time CD. It’s a very fun addition to the curriculum. Included are
specially designed Circle Time songs for certain group activities and
transitions as well as classic children’s songs. The classic songs offer two
variations – one is sung with lyrics and the other is an instrumental version.
Included with the Welcome Kit are labels for all 12 months of the year. They go with the monthly themed calendars and calendar pieces that are found in each monthly kit.
Also
included in the Welcome Kit are an ASL poster, investigation station signs, and
My Scrapbook.
I’m very
happy with everything that’s included with the Welcome Kit. Everything is very
well made and will last a long time. Well I’m hoping they will anyways since my
2 year old isn’t very nice with things most of the time ;)
We will
start talking about our experiences with Mother Goose Time starting in June.
We will be learning about “The Alphabet House”.
