Celebration of Peace

Included in our Going on Safari curriculum, we received this fun Celebration of Peace celebration kit.

^ We started off with a fun Circle time song to the tune of London Bridges.

^ After our song, we read a story about Martin Luther King Jr that talked about who he was and what he stood for. We had a sad face and a happy face that Miss M would hold up at certain parts of the story.

^ After our story, we played a little matching game.

^ Peaceful Poses yoga!

^ Miss M would spin the spinner and would try to hold whatever pose it landed on for at least 10 seconds

^ Our Year of Peace calendar. This was actually kind of tricky to make. Miss M kept trying to pull her hand down the paper instead of just pressing her hand down to make a hand print so we had to try this a few times before we got a good one :)

^ We also did some color mixing. We used a paper towel, markers, and water drops to mix the colors with.

Santa's Workshop Celebration

In December, Mother Goose Time gave us an awesome little Santa’s Workshop celebration kit!
We had lots of fun with this.

These extra little kits are really great and have all sorts of things included with them. It came with a little teacher guide for the day and materials for games and crafts that can be used with a wide range of ages. The invitations are so stinkin cute!

Here’s the teacher guide. It gives info for all the crafts and activities.

We started off with circle time. We sang a little song about Santa to the tune of “London Bridge” and we read the story “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Pics of some of the activities we did! It was a very fun day :)

Bonus Celebration Day - Thanksgiving

This month Mother Goose Time gave us an awesome little Thanksgiving celebration kit!
We had lots of fun with this.

These extra little kits are really great and have all sorts of things included with them. It came with a little teacher guide for the day and materials for games and crafts that can be used with a wide range of ages. There were other items that you can print out on the Mother Goose Time website for this bonus day under the Member Resources area and then you’d look in the “On The Go” section. There are invitations, a checklist, a sign-in sheet, station signs, and decorations that you can print out and use.

Here’s the teacher guide

The first thing we did was sit down and talked about what Thanksgiving is. We also sung a little circle time song and write on our feather for our Thankful Turkey.

Next, we played turkey bowling! This was lots of fun. I loved the little paper turkeys. I cut them out and taped them to some recycled water bottles. I set them up like bowling pins and then we took turns rolling a ball and trying to knock down the turkeys. Then we’d count how many turkeys fell over and then set them back up to play again.

We also played a game called Stuff the Turkey. I taped some paper drumsticks to the sides of a paper bag. Then we took turns tossing some little pompoms into the turkey bag and pretended to stuff the turkey. I tried to get Miss M to step back and do this but she wanted to sit right next to the bag.

We also made a little turkey snack. I took the glove we were given and put puffs in the fingers. Then I filled the main part of the glove with some popcorn - Cosmos Creations Caramel Apple Crisp actually. It’s super yummy (totally addicted to these now…) and I don’t have to worry about Miss M choking for the most part because there are no hulls or kernels. Bonus: this is also gluten-free, trans-fat free, and is made with non GMO corn. I also attached a little wiggle eye and some scrap paper to make it look like a turkey. Such a cute idea for a snack.
We had so much fun with this celebration kit! Thanks Mother Goose Time! :D

Pumpkin Patch Party!

In October, Mother Goose Time gave us an awesome little Pumpkin Patch Celebration Kit!
We put together a little party and had a blast.

These extra little kits are really great and have all sorts of things included with them. I also decided to look up some other ideas for some games to play in addition to all the great games and activities that Mother Goose Time came up with too. They also come with their own little teacher guide, invitations, thank you notes, and materials for games and crafts that can be used with a wide range of ages. Here are some of the items included with our kit.

Super cute invitations!

Pumpkin Counting game

Here’s a little bag full of items for our crafts/games.

They even included a little recipe card for a snack for the little ones to make too! :) It was really yummy

The first thing we did was sit down to do a little circle time song and finger play poem. Miss M loved doing these.

Next, we played beware of the bat game. You’re supposed to play this game by hiding the cards under the paper bag pumpkins in your “pumpkin patch” you make with the kiddos. Since it was just Miss M and we hadn’t gotten to that activity yet…

I just spread the cards out on the floor and Miss M kinda just made her own game with these and the pumpkin counting game cards. She had fun matching the cats to the pumpkins. Well trying to anyways lol.

There was also a pin the patch on the scarecrow game included. We didn’t get around to playing this one but we can always do it another day :)

We were also given items to do a Pumpkin Pounding activity and Pumpkin Seed Search.

Next, Miss M put on her Halloween costume and we played a few other games that mommy came up with for our little party.

We played Pumpkin Bowling

Witch Ring Toss

Balloon Catch

And we played Halloween Eyeball Bounce

We had so much fun with this celebration kit! We’re definitely looking forward to the next ones to come.
